The Jigawa State Government
has settled the payment of National Examination Council, NECO, Examinations
fees for the immediate release of results of NECO exams for the 800,000 Jigawa
students who sat for this year’s examination.
This was disclosed by the
Director-General State Educational Inspectorate and Monitoring Unit Malam Abdullahi
Yunusa in an interview.
The Director General said N317 million was spent for the
payment of this year’s NECO exams, adding that Jigawa students are advised to
check their NECO results on NECO’s website from Thursday or Friday.
The Director General added
that Government will establish a committee under Jigawa Education Resources
Development JERD to find the students
with high scores in order to set up a merit award for them.
According to him, various
workshops and training of teachers on capacity building were organized by the
Ministry of Education for teachers especially Science and Mathematic Teachers.
He also stated that all the
Principals in the State were trained on quality assurance control.
Speaking further, he said
over 1350 teachers have benefited from various teaching skills, even as he said
the state government will hire 4000 teachers and that the state will select the
best among them to be converted as permanent and pensionable teachers where
they will be posted to their respective Local Government Areas to teach as
teachers.
